The leading Product manager, PhD Mikhail Zhuravlev, made a presentation at the strategic session dedicated to innovations in feeding aquaculture species. The topic of his presentation is "The use of feed additives in aquaculture: phytase and butyric acid sources".
Mikhail revealed the role of modern enzyme and functional additives in improving feeding efficiency, reducing production costs and improving environmental performance. The use of phytase, for example, can significantly increase the digestibility of phosphorus and other micro- and macronutrients from the plant components of the feed, which reduces the load on the aquatic environment and improves the feed coefficient. The introduction of butyric acid, in turn, has a prebiotic and antibacterial effect, strengthening the immune system of fish and contributing to the restoration of the intestinal microbiota.
As the speaker emphasized, the use of such additives has ceased to be an experiment — today it is a standard practice for modern fish farms, allowing them to increase production rates and increase profitability.
Mikhail's speech aroused great interest among the participants — specialists from fish farms, research centers and feed producers. The participants actively shared their experience in implementing innovations, demonstrating how new approaches are already transforming the industry. The Forum has become an important platform for sharing knowledge, establishing business contacts and promoting technologies that can ensure the sustainable development of aquaculture.
We thank the organizers for the opportunity to participate in this significant event and all the participants for the warm welcome and productive dialogue.
