From September 14 to 18, together with the company Agroprostory, we held a large-scale seminar that brought together dozens of livestock professionals from Russia and the Republic of Belarus. The hospitable Belarusian land united specialists ready to exchange experience and discuss pressing issues in the dairy sector.
Business Program: A Lively Dialogue About What Matters Most
Opening the event, MISMA General Director Maxim Timoshkov emphasized that the program was structured so that each participant could combine useful theory with practice, gain new knowledge, and see how modern solutions work in real production.
The first block of the program was truly intensive. The discussion began with an overview of the dairy sector in the Republic of Belarus. Igor Grigoriev, General Director of Misma-Bel, presented the current market picture, production dynamics, and the trends already shaping the sector's development.
The analysis of feed structure generated particular interest among the audience. S. A. Moychenkov, General Director of Moychenkov Plant LLC, presented feed samples to participants and elaborated on which parameters can be considered optimal and which methods should be used to check feed quality. The topic continued with a discussion of the relationship between feed and reproduction. Vladislav Reshetnyak, MISMA’s Livestock Project Manager, explained how nutrition directly affects the reproductive functions of cows and the overall performance of livestock production.
Haylage harvesting technology was not overlooked either. Invited speaker A. F. Zholud discussed with participants how harvesting approaches affect the final quality of the feed base – and therefore the health and productivity of animals.
A separate block was dedicated to mastitis. A. A. Solomatin, PhD in Veterinary Sciences, presented data showing that in combating this problem, localized, farm-specific efforts deliver far more than universal protocols: it is targeted work with a specific enterprise that produces meaningful results. Practicing veterinarian A. I. Radaev explained how to combat the disease using laboratory diagnostics, and where the line lies between what tests can reveal and field practice.
The business portion concluded with a discussion on efficient feeding. S. V. Pozdnyakov, a dairy farming expert at Dairy Cow Consult LLC, presented participants with a framework for building diets that not only support health but also increase the economic return of production.
Round Table and Practical Part
A round table facilitated an in-depth discussion, where participants could ask speakers questions directly and work through complex production cases from their own practice. The lively dialogue became one of the most valuable parts of the program.
The practical part included a visit to the Kozlovich-Agro agricultural enterprise in the Minsk Region. Guests saw firsthand how modern technologies work in real production conditions and were able to discuss what they saw with colleagues.
Getting to know hospitable Belarus and networking in an informal setting provided a harmonious conclusion to the packed program.
